As I'm in England the weather is obviously an issue. It's not really rainy or anything. It's just still chilly. Thankfully the days are getting longer. I'm ready to put away the coats, scarves and boots. I need some warm days.
I'm frustrated that I don't have more time for the blog. Since I've started working full-time everything has changed. There's not enough time to edit and write the way that I want to. Not to mention that my blogging connections are suffering. No meet ups or conferences. Not enough time to comment and nurture those relationships. I miss it.
I'm feeling a bit lonely these days. Several friends have left London recently and I miss them. I haven't had nearly enough girl chat over a glass of wine. I LOVE the friends I've made here, I just wish I had more time with them. I'm also obviously missing my family. They all gathered over Easter and it was difficult to not be there, especially with Jessica's growing belly and the excitement over the new baby.
London has been crawling with cooties lately. Everyone is sick, sniffling and coughing. I've been doing the same for the past two weeks and it's annoying the hell out of me.
I can hear your mini-violins and yes, I'd love some cheese with my whine. Life is good and I know that. But we always have to deal with the prickly bits, don't we?
Luckily, I came across this great bit of Advice from a Cactus by Ilan Shamir.
Get plenty of sunshine
(Spring is on our doorstep and we have some great sunny trips planned.)
Accentuate your strong points
(I will just do the best I can with the blog and I have a little makeover in the works which should perk things up a bit.)
Be patient through the dry spells
(I'll cherish every moment I do have with friends and make more of an effort and I'll be home soon to greet the newest member of the family.)
Conserve your resources
(I'm feeling better today and the cold will soon pass.)
Wait for your time to bloom
(Sure cacti have spines that sting but they are also flowering succulents. Life is good.)
Stay sharp
(So, that's enough whining, don't you agree? I'm just going to enjoy this lovely weekend that we have ahead of us.)
(These photos are all from my day at Kew Gardens.)
What spines have been annoying you lately?
