If you've been reading this blog for any length of time
then you know that South Bank is one of our favorite ways to spend a day.
we decided to head over that way and make a day of it.
There's an area of the Queen's Walk between the London Eye and Royal Festival Hall
that is full of buskers and street artists. We see something new every time we go.
The bubble guy was surrounded by little ones chasing the bubbles and squealing with delight.
A split second after I took this picture this massive bubble flew right into my face and burst
leaving soapsuds all over me and my camera. Then it was my turn to squeal and laugh.
Never too old to enjoy bubbles!
There's always a festival or special event going on along the banks.
This weekend there was a Spanish food and wine festival happening that brought out the crowds.
The Southbank Book Market under Waterloo Bridge is another favorite stop.
I noticed this time that there is a vendor selling maps from all over the world.
I might have to make a purchase there soon. I love old maps.
And then there are the views.
When we were done we hopped on a Thames Clipper
and rode down the Thames towards home.
and rode down the Thames towards home.
What's your favorite day out in London?
P.S. Guess who's a finalist in the BrisMums Brilliance in Blogging Awards?!?
I'm a finalist in the Travel Category again this year.
I'm so proud and so appreciative of everyone who voted for me.
Thanks so much! It means the world to me.
I saw a bubble gun at the store today and almost bought it, as you say bubbles are really so much fun!

That book market looks to be just my speed, and very interesting that there's a map vendor. I've always been intrigued by old maps (and new ones, too!). Congrats on being a finalist!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful day! I adore the sound of steel drums as you walk along the Southbank the most.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think I would love the South Bank! I'd definitely go for one of those old maps..I'm a sucker for those. Thanks for these beautiful photos and another place to add to my To Visit in England list!
ReplyDeleteSouthBank is one of my favorite areas! I can always spend hours exploring around there!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like fun!
ReplyDeleteWe love the south bank too! An easy way to entertain the kids. There's always something going on (or if not the skateboarders at the skate park) can keep them entranced. Congrats on being a BIB finalist. See you at Britmums!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is awesome! Wish I could exprience it!

Of course you were a finalist!! You completely rock! And so does your blog! The thing about London... walking along the Thames?? The freaky awesome things you see!! I saw someone swallow flames once, and of course saw a Transformer last time... then once there was that robot! Seriously I'll have to go through all of my years of photos of Street performers in London and blog about them! I hope you've been keeping well, how is your job going? Not long and your dad will arrive! Oh... and how did you pass up the maps and the book on Texas? :)
ReplyDeleteMuch love, Tammy xx
