The next stop on the MSC Splendida was Marsaille, France which I'm sure is lovely.
But, I wanted to visit a nearby town that I've heard so much about from one of my very favorite bloggers.
So, when I saw it was just a short bus ride from Marseille I knew that was where I wanted to explore.
We again joined a ship excursion. We stayed with the guide for a short time,
but the historical section of the city is small and easy to explore on your own.
We soon ventured away from the group.
We visited the Cathedral and walked along the charming streets of the old city.
We spent some time at a market and I purchased some spices and soap.
We stopped at a cafe for Le Chocolat Chaud and some people watching.
We were only there for a few hours. Plus, I was in Provence and didn't have any wine! La tragédie!
But, I wasn't too stressed because I will be returning.
Girl's trip to Provence this Summer! I'm sure we'll make up for it.
As you can see, this little French "city of a thousand fountains" is absolutely delightful.
I can't wait to go back, see more and drink wine!
Any recommendations for our Provence trip this summer?
Great pics. Definitley makes me want to visit!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to buy herbs like that!
ReplyDeleteNo tips, but when I saw that your cruise stop was at Aix en Provence, I was pretty excited. I'm glad to know it's close to the popular port and worth the visit. Will keep it in mind.
ReplyDeleteOH France... is there any place better :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and I love all of the beautiful fall colors! I love France!

One place to explore, 45 mn far from Aix-en-Provence is les Baux de Provence. And if you have the timeliness to sleep in the village, you will be able to have this famous place only for you !
ReplyDeleteAix-en-Provence is such a lovely town! I've been twice before and loved it every time! For your girls trip in the summer you should also definitely put Avignon on the list: it's my other favorite town in the South of France and it's very different from Aix (or France in general)!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion! Avignon sounds lovely. I can't wait for our trip this summer.
