Happy Independence Day!

I've finally wrapped up all of the posts from Sugar Bear's visit.  I can't believe it's been almost a month since she left.  Showing her London was fantastic.

Some more highlights... double-decker bus tour, climbing to the top of St. Paul's Cathedral, going to see Matilda and Mamma Mia.

But there is still so much to show her of London.  We're already planning her next visit!!

I'm finding that experiencing holidays so far from home makes me especially homesick.  I woke up this morning imagining that we were heading over to my brother's house for a  family barbecue.  I'm picturing hugs, kisses and lots of laughter with those I love.

For some reason, Independence Day isn't big over here.  Go figure.  We're making the best of it by going to TGI Friday's and then to see Rock of Ages on the stage.   A cosmo, fajitas and some 80's hair band music will have to do.

I hope everyone back home has a wonderful, fun-filled day.  Hug your loved ones a little tighter.  I love you and miss you like crazy!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

xoxo

  1. Happy 4th July Selena! Sorry you won't be celebrating it back home today but TGI's should be yummy, I love their Oreo shakes they do! p.s if you haven't been to Meat Market in Covent Garden yet you should definitely check it out, we went there on Saturday and had amazing burgers (in-N-out style but maybe slightly better) with corn puppies and chilli cheese fries and a thick vanilla shake! It was like a little slice of America here in London!!

  2. Happy 4th to you, too! Last year we were in Ireland (Republic of) over the 4th, and we got several versions of "oh, this is your big holiday, right?!" It was very different from the nothing we get here in England! Enjoy your holiday, even if it's English-style!

    1. Thanks so much, Gesci! It turned out to be a good day. We went to TGI Fridays and then to see Rock of Ages. I got a good taste of America... mediocre restaurant food and 80's hair bands. It was perfect :D
