I Spy Friday (plus 3 Month Well-Expat Check Up)

I must confess that it was not love at first sight.
My first reaction was actually "There is NO way this will ever work out.  Ever. No Way."

But over time, my heart has been captured.

We first met, London and I, during a three day trip over the Summer.

I've always considered myself as being worldly and somewhat traveled.
But, I'm really just a country suburb mouse.

We were staying a few steps from Trafalgar Square during the height of the tourist season.
And the big city was scarey and noisy and rainy...

and everyone gave me funny looks for wearing my butterfly wellies.

(I might as well have had "tourist" tattooed on my forehead.  But, aren't they the cutest?)

But now, after living in London for just a few months, I am smitten.
It's an amazing city with so much to offer.
It's like drinking from a fire hydrant, (but in a good way.)

I love the pedestrian lifestyle.

We walk to dinner, to the cinema, to the nail salon,

Channeling my inner Tween.
...to the pub,  to the park, to the shops,

Cutest Cheese Grater Ever!  Must have one.
...to the pub, to the grocery...

Well actually, I have a confession.  We tried online grocery shopping the other day.
For just £4 our groceries were delivered to the door (cheaper than the taxi).
 And look what they had!!

We had a very enjoyable taco night and even managed to find some sour cream.

Of course, there are other ways to get around London besides walking.

Do you think there are holes in the floorboards a la Flintstones?
For you thrill seekers, hop on one of the 6,000 Barclay Cycle Hire bikes located around London.
And for you adrenaline junkies, Pedi-Cabs have been sited in London Town.
But the very best thing about London by far is the people.

 They love their "mummies." (giggle)

  They are animal lovers.

And well, they...um... think pyramids are cool.

I've developed this odd Tourrettes-type syndrome.
I walk up to random people, wave my camera and blurt out

"I'm American!"

"I have a blog!"

(I really do need supervision.)

At dinner, I spied these lovely ladies sporting curly locks and having a wonderful time.

I wanted to join them, but instead just asked if I could take their picture.
One of them even had the stars & stripes on her shirt, so I knew they wouldn't mind.

Aren't they gorgeous?

That's why I love London.

The people.

Oh, and the pubs.
Chillaxin' at our favorite pub... The Prince Edward
